Some weeks ago Tombola Bingo announced they were to be the new sponsors of Emmerdale. They put a call out to all of their players looking for potential stars of their new bumpers (the little ads before and after each part of the show). Apparently over 700 people applied and after a couple of slight delays last night the Tombola Bingo Emmerdale Bumpers aired for the very first time and sadly all we can say is 'Oh dear'.

Tombola Bingo is renowned in the world of internet bingo for their fun and exciting games and their earlier television adverts that were sadly banned were probably one of the most successful adverts ever with the cool cartoon graphics and instantly recognizable music. Since these adverts were banned the online bingo site seems to have lost the way a little, their current Ola Tombola Bingo adverts are average at best and the new Emmerdale Bumpers are truly dire.

Don't get us wrong we can see what Tombola Bingo were trying to do by involving their players in these bumpers but when you have such a short amount of time to grab the attention of the viewer you need something fun and memorable that will stick in the mind. The current bumpers are terrible and based around one player with a supposedly witty internet bingo name under their image on screen followed by a brief group shot; it's just all very very boring and does not tie in with the site or do it justice in any possible way.

On a plus note Tombola Bingo has a brand new free game starting on December 1st which is always something exciting; our guess is it may be some kind of advent calendar based gamed which will see us opening doors to win cash prizes, we will know how right we are in two weeks time!
